Mikala lykkes stile, artistic ideals, topics and themes.

My style is expressive. My favourite motive is the human being. My artistic ideals and inspirations are: Degas, Svend Viig Hansen, Rudolf Tegner.contemporary sculptures that I admire are:
Danish Jens Galsjøt og Dorrit Worm.

In my earlyer days I made many sculptures after living models. I have also made faceportraits after photos and living models.

In 2006 I made a production of rosesculptures with glaze, glass and oxide.

My latest series, that i started in 2006 is called "symbiosis" or "doublefigures". Most of the sculptures in the series are glazed. It means I have smoothed and straightened the surface on the sculptures. I work consciously to improve the sculptures, so that they can be turned around in as many ways as possible, In that way you get many sculptures in One sculpture. Each double-sculptures can be turned in 2 to 7 ways.

Materials:

Most of the sculptures I make now are stoneware. Some of my sculptures are glazed with glaze, schellak and oxide.

Surface:

Some times I use different tecnicks to get a more smooth or rough texture on the surface.

Size

The sculptures are from 10 to 60 centimeters high and wide.

History:

I started making sculptures in the year 2000. I have studied sculpturing with 4 professionel teachers (see my cv for details)
